I decided to become a midwife in order to help women have natural labours, and normal births.  My family has a strong background of home birthing and normal births, so it was quite natural for me to want to help women achieve this goal.  I trained in England at the University of Nottingham and worked as a hospital based midwife there after graduation in 2001. In 2002, my husband and I decided that it was time to move home to Canada and after working with the Midwives of Windsor for over three years, I am happy to be in Hamilton and closer to friends and family.
